Hans Conried

American actor (1917–1982)

Hans Conried was a versatile American actor and comedian, born in 1917. He had a prolific career in film, with a wide range of notable roles. One of his most iconic performances was voicing Captain Hook and George Darling in the 1953 Disney classic, Peter Pan. Conried also lent his voice to other memorable characters, including Snidely Whiplash in the Dudley Do-Right cartoons and Professor Waldo P. Wigglesworth in the Hoppity Hooper cartoons, both created by Jay Ward.

In addition to his voice work, Conried appeared in various live-action roles, hosting Jay Ward's Fractured Flickers show and playing recurring characters such as Professor Kropotkin in the radio and film versions of My Friend Irma. He also made notable guest appearances on popular sitcoms, including Make Room for Daddy, where he played Uncle Tonoose, and I Love Lucy, which he appeared on twice. Furthermore, Conried portrayed the Mad Hatter in The Alphabet Conspiracy, a 1959 production. Throughout his career, Conried demonstrated his impressive range and talent, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of film and comedy until his passing in 1982.
