Eliezer Igra

Eliezer Igra is a prominent rabbi who has held various significant positions within the Israeli religious community. He serves as a dayan of the Upper Beit Din of Israel, as well as the Av Beit Din of the Beersheba Beit Din. Additionally, Igra holds the position of Moshav Rabbi of Kfar Maimon, demonstrating his extensive involvement in religious leadership.
Igra's influence extends to the realm of activism, particularly within the Religious Zionist movement. In 2013, he emerged as a candidate for the position of Chief Rabbi of Israel, garnering support from leading Religious Zionist rabbis. Although he received a significant vote of confidence in a secret ballot, Igra ultimately withdrew from the election prior to its completion. His interim role as president of the Council of the Chief Rabbinate further underscores his stature within the religious community.
