Joseph Bismuth

Joseph Bismuth was a prominent Tunisian figure, active in both the business and political spheres. Bismuth's entry into politics marked a notable milestone in his career. In July 2005, he was elected to the Chamber of Advisors, a newly formed upper chamber in the Tunisian government. This election was historic, as Bismuth became the only Jewish elected legislator in the Arab world at the time. Additionally, he was a member of the International Council of Jewish Parliamentarians, further highlighting his commitment to public service and representation. Bismuth passed away in 2019, leaving behind a legacy that reflected his dedication to both business and politics.
