Selma Meerbaum-Eisinger was a poet of Romanian origin, whose literary works were penned in the German language. Born in Romania, she developed a passion for poetry, which would become the hallmark of her brief yet notable career. Despite her young age, Meerbaum-Eisinger demonstrated a remarkable talent for verse, leaving behind a legacy that would be cherished by literature enthusiasts.

Tragically, Meerbaum-Eisinger's life was cut short during the Holocaust, when she was sent to a labor camp in Ukraine. At the age of 18, she succumbed to the harsh conditions, her promising life and literary career abruptly ended. As a Jewish poet, her experiences and perspectives would have undoubtedly added a unique voice to the literary world, had she been given the opportunity to fully develop her craft. Nevertheless, her existing works continue to be remembered and appreciated, serving as a testament to her talent and the enduring power of poetry.
