Shemp Howard
שחקן אמריקאי
Shemp Howard was a renowned American comedian and actor, born in 1895, who left an indelible mark on the film industry. His claim to fame stems from his association with The Three Stooges, a role he undertook during the act's formative years in the early 1920s, specifically from 1923 to 1932. During this period, the group was known as "Ted Healy and his Stooges," with Shemp as the third Stooge. His initial stint with the Stooges laid the groundwork for his future success in the entertainment industry.
Following his departure from the Stooges in 1932, Shemp embarked on a successful solo career, showcasing his comedic prowess in a series of film shorts, often alongside partners. This fruitful period lasted for fourteen years, until 1946, when he rejoined The Three Stooges at the behest of his brother Moe and friend Larry Fine. This decision was prompted by the need to replace his ailing brother Curly, and Shemp reluctantly agreed to rejoin the group as a favor to his loved ones. He remained with the Stooges until his death in 1955, leaving behind a legacy as a talented comedian and actor in the film industry.
