Yehoshua Cohen was a prominent figure in the Zionist militant group Lehi, actively involved in the organization's endeavors. His most notable action was the assassination of United Nations envoys Folke Bernadotte and André Sérot, which occurred on September 17, 1948. This event marked a significant moment in Cohen's life as a militant. Despite his involvement in the assassination, Cohen was never formally charged or held accountable for his role in the incident.

Beyond his activism, Cohen was also a founder of the Sde Boker kibbutz, located in the Negev Desert. The kibbutz would later become the residence of David Ben-Gurion, with whom Cohen developed a close friendship during Ben-Gurion's time there. Cohen's life was marked by his commitment to the Zionist cause and his involvement in the establishment of the Sde Boker community, leaving a lasting impact on the region and its history.
