Auerbach's breakthrough in radio comedy came in 1937 when he joined the Al Pearce radio show, introducing his iconic character "Mr. Kitzel" to audiences.
Auerbach's portrayal of "Mr. Kitzel" gained immense popularity, leading to a 12-year stint as a regular on the Jack Benny radio show. He also made appearances on The Abbott and Costello radio show during the 1940s, further solidifying his reputation as a skilled comedic actor. Prior to his work with Jack Benny, Auerbach had collaborated with Phil Baker, demonstrating his versatility and ability to work with various notable figures in the entertainment industry. Auerbach passed away in 1957, leaving behind a legacy as a beloved comedian and photographer.
