Curt Bloch was a German Jewish writer, born in 1908. His life's work was significantly impacted by the tumultuous events of World War II, during which he was forced to hide in the Netherlands to escape persecution. It was in this period of hiding that Bloch demonstrated remarkable resilience and creativity, channeling his experiences into literary works that critiqued the Nazi regime.

Between 1908 and 1975, Bloch made notable contributions to literature, particularly through his satirical writings.
