Elliott Horowitz

Elliott S. Horowitz was a Jewish American historian born in 1953. He spent his early years in Queens, New York City, where he developed an interest in historical studies. Horowitz pursued his higher education at esteemed institutions, beginning with Yeshivat Kerem be-Yavneh. He then attended Princeton University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in 1975. This marked the beginning of his academic journey, which would eventually lead him to become a prominent figure in the field of history.

Horowitz furthered his education at Yale University, where he earned his doctorate in 1982. His doctoral dissertation, "Jewish confraternities in seventeenth-century Verona: a study in the social history of piety," showcased his expertise in historical research. Throughout his career, Horowitz demonstrated a deep understanding of historical events and their significance. He passed away in 2017, leaving behind a legacy as a respected American historian with a strong foundation in academic research and a notable contribution to the field of history.
