Born on May 10, 1885, he went on to serve as the Dayan of Erlau, Hungary, a position that underscored his authority and expertise in Jewish law.
Sofer's literary contributions to Jewish literature are notable, particularly his authorship of the halachic responsa sefer, Yad Sofer.
