Ida Mett

רופאה, סופרת ואקטיביסטית אנרכיסטית ממוצא בלארוסי

Ida Mett was a Belarusian anarchist and writer who lived from 1901 to 1973. Her early life was marked by involvement in the Russian Revolution, which ultimately led to her exile in France. During her time in France, Mett collaborated with fellow anarchist exiles on the publication of Delo Truda magazine, a platform that allowed her to contribute to the development of platformism. Her experiences and interactions with other revolutionaries had a profound impact on her worldview and informed her subsequent activities.

Mett's anarchist ideals led her to participate in anarcho-syndicalist movements in several countries, including Belgium, Spain, and France. However, her work was disrupted by the rise of the fascist Vichy regime, which forced her to cease her activities. In the later years of her life, Mett shifted her focus to working as a nurse and publishing historical works. Through her writing, she was able to reflect on her experiences and share her insights with others, leaving behind a legacy as a dedicated anarchist and historian.
