Ivo Wesby

Ivo Wesby was a Polish composer and director, born as Ignacy Singer in 1902 in Kraków, Poland. He pursued his musical education in Vienna, which laid the foundation for his future career in the entertainment industry. In the 1920s, Wesby held the position of music director at various revue theaters in Warsaw, showcasing his talent and expertise in the field.

Wesby's career spanned multiple mediums, including film, where he worked as a music director on several notable Polish and Yiddish productions. Some of his notable works include Mamele, Fredek uszczęśliwia świat, and Królowa przedmieścia, among others. Prior to the outbreak of World War II, he led the renowned Groyse Revie, further solidifying his reputation as a skilled composer and director. Ivo Wesby passed away in 1961, leaving behind a legacy of contributions to the world of music and film.
