Yehoshua Zettler was a prominent figure in the Israeli activist movement, serving as the Jerusalem commander of Lehi, a Jewish militant group. Born in 1917, Zettler played a significant role in the organization, which was often referred to as the Stern Gang. His involvement in the group was marked by notable actions, including the planning of high-profile operations.
Zettler's most notable act was the conception and planning of the assassination of Count Folke Bernadotte, a Swedish diplomat representing the United Nations Security Council. The assassination took place on September 17, 1948, amidst the aftermath of the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, where Bernadotte was acting as a mediator. Zettler's involvement in this event underscores his commitment to the Lehi's cause and his role as a key figure in the group's activities. He passed away in 2009, at the age of 92.
