René Goscinny

René Goscinny was a renowned French comic book writer, best known for his contributions to the field of literature. Born in 1926 to a Jewish family of Polish origin, Goscinny's early life was marked by international influences. His family's relocation to Argentina during his childhood exposed him to a unique cultural environment, where he attended French schools. This experience was followed by a brief stint in the United States, which proved to be a pivotal moment in his career.

Goscinny's time in the United States was notable for his encounter with Belgian cartoonist Morris, with whom he would later collaborate on the popular comic series Lucky Luke. This partnership spanned over two decades, showcasing Goscinny's talent as a writer. His most iconic creation, however, remains the Asterix comic book series, which he developed in conjunction with illustrator Albert Uderzo. Through his work, Goscinny left an indelible mark on the world of comics, cementing his legacy as a prominent figure in French literature until his passing in 1977.
